• When you post, we keep your name, WhatsApp number and post details.
• When you unlock, we keep an anonymous cookie ID and the Razorpay order and payment IDs.
• Card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay, never to us.
• New posts need an email. After a contact is paid for, we send one email to the buyer and the seller together, with the details of the post, as a record of the connection; because it goes to both of you, you will see each other's email address. The payer's email and number come from the payment (Razorpay). We never show your email on the site, never share it with anyone else, and never send you marketing. After a contact is paid for, we may create a WhatsApp group with the buyer, the seller and the garbapass team. Everyone in it sees each other's WhatsApp number. The buyer's number comes from the payment (Razorpay) and is used only for this group and for support.
• If you allow notifications we keep an anonymous device token to send them, and count at most 3 a day. You can switch them off any time in your browser.
• When you post, and when you pay to contact someone, we keep a record of what you accepted: the wording and its version, the time, your phone number and the listing, plus your IP address, approximate location (city level, from your IP) and device and browser details. We keep this record safely to deal with complaints, disputes and legal requests, and share it only with courts, police or authorities when the law requires.
• The board shows your first name, initial and a masked number.
• Your full number is shown only to people who pay to unlock your post.
• Data is stored in MongoDB Atlas on AWS in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1). The site is hosted on Vercel.
• We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see, in total, which pages people visit, how far they scroll, how long they stay and what they tap, so we can make the site better. It uses no cookies and never receives your number, name or note.
• We also keep our own totals of visits and taps (for example "1,200 views of the home page today"), so we can see how the season went. Your browser remembers only the day you first and last visited, in local storage, to tell new visitors from returning ones. Only the day's totals reach us: never who you are, your number or what you typed. Skipped if your browser sends Do Not Track.
• We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymous taps, scrolls and page views (and replays them as heatmaps) so we can see where people get stuck. Phone numbers, names and secret manage links are masked or never recorded. Clarity sets its own first-party cookies for this.
• We never sell your data. We share it only with these providers, or when law requires.
• Posts expire at 2 AM IST after their last night.
• We keep names, numbers, posts and records safely after Navratri too, so we can help with any complaint, payment or refund question later, and so each season's numbers help us make garbapass better next year. Your full number stays hidden from anyone who hasn't paid to contact you, and an ended post leaves the board.
• To recognise returning visitors and spot misuse, your browser keeps a random ID in local storage and we compute a device hash (FingerprintJS) from your browser settings. We store only hashed values, linked to the name, number or email you gave us in a post or a payment. We do not share them or use them for ads. They are skipped if your browser sends Do Not Track; clear your site data to reset them, or email us to remove them.
• One httpOnly cookie (pns_buyer) remembers your unlocks on this device for up to a year.
